SITKA SPRUCE

Scientific name: Picea sitchensis

The Sitka spruce is a fast-growing evergreen conifer. It is by far the largest of the spruce species growing to almost 100 m (330 ft) tall,[2] with a trunk  that can be 2 m diameter. 

Timber: Like Norway, quite pale, straight grain 

Common use : Sitka spruce is used widely in making  pallets and boxes but also in timber framing for construction because its cheap and strong . We can cut beams up to 10m x 45cm
